Proper public record preservation
IPNO strongly recommends that, like evidence, public records, especially law enforcement and prosecutors’ files, be preserved for the duration of the sentence of every person convicted of the crime in question. Penalties should apply to records custodians who destroy or lose public records and should be enforced. All public records should be scanned and stored electronically.
